AI and Mental Health: Ethical and Clinical Considerations for Psychotherapists is a 3-hour Law and Ethics CE workshop designed to help mental health professionals understand and navigate the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and psychotherapy.

Participants will explore the legal, ethical, and clinical implications of AI in practice, including documentation tools, HIPAA compliance, telehealth platforms, liability concerns, AI companionship, AI relationships, AI grief, and AI-induced psychosis. Drawing on current ethics codes and real-world case examples, this training provides practical guidance and a framework for making sound clinical decisions in an increasingly AI-influenced world.

Whether you're tech-savvy or tech-skeptical, you'll leave with greater confidence in addressing AI-related issues with competence, compassion, and professional integrity.

Continuing Education Information

This course has been approved for 3 hours of Law and Ethics Continuing Education by the NBCC. Additionally, this course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of Law and Ethics Continuing Education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Therapy that Works Institute programs are offered for NBCC credit (ACEP No. 7125). Additionally, the Therapy that Works Institute (Provider #1000141) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs.
